مستخلص: The objective of this study was to determine the fitness of the Self-Directed Learning Readiness Scale (SDLRS) factorial structure for Taiwanese secondary school students. Analyzing the model fit of the SDLRS was undertaken. Data from the 8-dimensional 58-item SDLRS completed by 3,878 students from 7 Taiwan secondary schools were analyzed using maximum likelihood confirmatory factor analysis. The first and second parts of this study examined the SDLRS model fitness of Taiwanese students' data. In the third part of study, we constructed a self-regulated learning scale using 12 of the SDLRS items while maintaining sound validity and reliability. We concluded that the SDLRS is an appropriate tool to measure and trace the future change of Taiwan secondary school students' self-directed learning readiness after the implementation of new curriculum guidelines.
