مستخلص: This study examines the effects of block scheduling on secondary school library media centers across the state of Arkansas. Specifically, this study addresses the impact that block scheduling has on the school library media center in the areas of time, resources, and productivity for both students and library media staff. This study is needed because inadequate quantitative research has been done on the impact of block scheduling on the school library media center. The survey instrument was designed specifically for this study and contains 20 items grouped into 3 sections identified as "General Information," "Scheduling," and "Productivity." The population of the study consisted of 442 library media specialists serving grades 7-12 at least part of the day in Arkansas public schools. The entire population was surveyed and no random sampling was used. Data analysis reveals differences between schools following a traditional schedule and those using a block schedule in several areas.
