| Abstract (English): |
The Early Arab linguists considered the issues of Defectiveness under the science of Morphology which was, in their view, covering both morphological and phonological aspects. Defectiveness reasoning always occur for seeking the dis/ease in articulating words, and this, of course, relates to phonology. Accordingly, it has been argued that the Defectiveness phenomenon should not be considered under the science of Morphology. In this paper, I show the semantic aspect. This can be seen in some traditional works that focused on the role of meaning in contrasting between the phonological reasoning such as distinguishing the word type or its root, or in achieving a syntactic function. Hence, the current paper aims to show and study these semantic dimensions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |

درس علماء العربية مباحث الإعلال في مصنفاتهم ضمن علم التصريف، الذي كان في نظر المتقدمين شاملا للجانب الصرفي (بمعناه الأخص، وهو تغيير بنى الكلمات تباعا لاختلاف الدلالة)، والجانب الصوتي، كالإدغام والتقاء الساكنين. وعلل الإعلال دائرة حول الاستثقال وطلب الخفة، فهو مبحث صوتي، ولذا ذهب بعض الباحثين إلى ضرورة إخراج هذا الباب من علم الصرف، إلا أن الناظر في كلام العرب، وما صاغه العلماء من قواعد بناء عليه، يجد إلا أن الناظر دلاليًّا يقارن بعض هذه العلل الصوتية، كتمييز نوع الكلمة، أو جذرها، أو لتحقيق وظيفة نحوية، كما قد يرتكب الاستثقال لإزالة لبس ما... ومن هنا جاء هذا البحث ليتناول هذه الأبعاد الدلالية بالعرض، والدراسة.
