مستخلص: Future 5G networks are expected to provide ubiquitous connectivity for extremely large number of devices with diverse characteristics in terms of storage, computing, network capacity and power supply. These networks will support an enormous myriad of services, application and business models with specific requirements for performance, reliability, and security. Network slicing can address the diverse requirements of diverse use cases by enabling network operators to create and deploy a number of virtualized networks over a common physical infrastructure. These virtualized networks are customized to specific needs of applications, services, clients and operators. In this paper, we present in brief the concept of network slicing and describe the enabling technologies. The focus is on mobility management functionality that may be provided as a service on demand using network slicing. Two use cases with different mobility management requirements are considered and the cooperation of supported functions is illustrated for edge computing environment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
