مستخلص: In the present work, the ground state and excited state dipole moment of small-sizedmolecule Coumarin 480 laser dye have been measured in a binary mixture of two solvents DMSO and water at room temperature (293K) using solvatochromic shift method. The computational study is made with DFT calculations and dipole moment values were compared with experimental values. It is observed that the excited state dipole moment is more than that of the ground state. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
