With its origin linked to capitalism, tourism involves, over time, in significant changes in the population's access to it. Tourism social relations are demarcated by a dichotomy of power, where tourists are in a privileged position; and they end up reproducing behaviors or speeches of prejudice. This paper aims to investigate the main demonstrations of prejudice towards tourism professionals; specifically, the ones working as receptive tour operators and in tourist information stations at the Salvador- Bahia International Airport. It is a study with a qualitative approach and characterized by being a participatory and exploratory research based on interviews with those professionals. Drawing on studies of sociological, anthropological and critical perspectives it identifies the relevance of the tourism phenomenon as a facilitator of social relations. The article results from scientific research on tourism and its relationships, focusing on direct contact between tourists and tourism professionals, and the main characteristics of behaviors, veiled speeches and stigmas as triggers for attitudes of prejudice. It was verified within the research that the relations resulting from the encounter between professionals and tourists evidences the subservience in tourism dynamics as naturalized by the tourists, and that they carry in their speeches stigmas and stereotypes towards the visited destination and its people. Com origem atrelada ao capitalismo, a atividade turística passa, a cada período, por significativas mudanças quanto ao acesso da população ao "fazer turismo". As relações sociais turísticas são demarcadas por uma dicotomia de poder, onde os turistas estão em posição privilegiada; e estes acabam reproduzindo comportamentos ou falas de cunho preconceituoso. Este artigo visa descrever as principais demonstrações de preconceito com o profissional de turismo, em específico, o de receptivo e posto de informação turística no Aeroporto Internacional de Salvador, Bahia. Trata-se de um estudo com abordagem qualitativa e caracterizado por ser uma pesquisa participativa-exploratória alicerçada em entrevistas com os profissionais. Com base em estudos de vieses sociológicos, antropológicos e críticos é identificada a relevância do turismo enquanto fenômeno facilitador de relações sociais. O artigo resulta de pesquisa científica sobre o turismo e suas relações, com enfoque no contato direto entre turista e profissional de turismo, as principais características de comportamentos, falas veladas e estigmas como estopim para atitudes com caráter preconceituoso. Constatou-se na pesquisa que as relações decorrentes do encontro entre o profissional e o turista evidenciam a subserviência na atividade turística como naturalizada pelos turistas, e estes carregam em seus discursos estigmas e estereótipos em relação ao destino visitado e sua população.
