مستخلص: The study implements optical and electron microscopy, measurements of hardness and elasticity modulus by nanoindenting to investigate the structure, elemental composition and mechanical properties of the fusion zone of commercially pure titanium and gold formed by micro spot welding. The paper shows that the alloy of titanium and gold has high hardness and elasticity modulus. These results may be conditioned by the formation of fast quenched structures of α-Ti titanium alloy containing Ti3Au and Au2Ti intermetallics and formation of defect structure of the crystallites represented by microtwins and chaotically arranged dislocations.
