Abstract (English): This article focusses on Vittorio Pica, second General Secretary of the Biennale from 1920 to 1926. Building upon recent and thorough re-examination of his influence on the development of art criticism in Italy, it emphasises Pica's agency in selecting and promoting the art exhibited at the Biennale. Moreover, the diachronic perspective allows an in-depth analysis of his direct and indirect aesthetic contribution to the Biennale. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
