مستخلص: Urtica dioica L. is an ornamental plant which belongs to the family Urticaceae. It is perennial herb, commonly known as nettle, stinging nettle. It is found in Indian subcontinent, South Asian countries, Europe and well known plant globally. It is generally used in the traditional medicine system to cure distinct diseases like jaundice, arthritis, nephritis, rheumatism and haematuria. It contains various valuable phytoconstituents such as flavonoids, phytosterols, amino acids, tannins, saponins and proteins. It is also used as fiber, manure, food, paint and paint. It showed various pharmacological activities like antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, anticancer, antibacterial, antidiabetic, immunomodulatory and antiviral. This review reveals the published information about the phytochemistry and ethnopharmacological activities of the plant Urtica dioica. This review explores all the research work accomplished on Urtica dioica in order to give amended information for the future works. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
