At the European Chemistry Partnering in February, young companies presented their processes from idea to start-up to scale-up. At the Chemanager Innovation Pitch, 22 start-ups were nominated, including the Japanese start-up Tsubame BHB, which won in the "Value to Industry" category with an environmentally friendly ammonia synthesis. The Berlin-based start-up Largentec won in the "Value to Society" category with its AGXX technology, which kills pathogenic germs and prevents the formation of biofilms. The start-up Microbify, a spin-off from the University of Regensburg, won in the "Value to Sustainability" category and plans to use natural gas storage as bioreactors for the production of green natural gas. At the 6th ECP, the Düsseldorf Global Entrepreneurship Centre (GEC) was the main partner and presented nominees for two challenges, including the Dutch company Mycotex, which has developed a production technique for vegan textiles using mushroom mycelium.
