مستخلص: This article focuses on short electrode insertion in cochlear implants. Cochlear implant electrodes differ in terms of length and contact separation. Standard electrodes are employed in many circumstances. However, problems such as cochlear ossification, malformation and fibrosis would cause difficulty for the full insertion of a standard electrode array and therefore partial insertion of the electrode or a shorter electrode would be required. It is undeniable that implantation with a short electrode is an alternative for ossified cochlea.
