The celebration of a feast of thanksgiving for the victories of Brihuega and Villaviciosa at the end of 1710 was the ideal setting for the exhibition of sincere signs of loyalty to the monarch by the town of Alzira. The purpose of these displays of joy through the feast, literature and visuality had as its main objective the transmission of a series of values and trustworthiness towards the monarchical power while legitimizing before its vassals the adhesion of the town to Bourbon in a crucial moment when the throne of Spain was decided definitely toward its position in the last moments of the War of Succession. La celebració d’una festa d’acció de gràcies per les victòries de Brihuega i Villaviciosa a finals del 1710 esdevingué l’escenari idoni per a l’exhibició de mostres sinceres de lleialtat cap al monarca per part de la vila d’Alzira. La finalitat d’aquestes expressions de goig a través de la festa, la literatura i la visualitat tenia com a objectiu principal la transmissió d’una sèrie de valors i fidelitats cap al poder monàrquic al temps que legitimava davant els seus vassalls l’adhesió de la vila al Borbó en un moment crucial en què el tron d’Espanya es decantava definitivament cap a la seua posició en els darrers moments de la guerra de Successió.
