Punishment in human life was not an emergency or something new. But it has accompanied man since his birth. With the existence of man on earth, he had a clear idea of two basic things in life: First: A good deed is matched by (reward). Second: The bad deed is matched by (punishment). And that the principle of punishment is related to the life and survival of man, as the Holy Qur'an referred to in the Almighty's saying (And there is life for you in retribution, O men of understanding) just as the Holy Qur'an referred to punishment, the Book of the Old Testament also referred to punishment, most of which are in three books: Exodus, Deuteronomy, and Leviticus. Most of them are related to the commandments of the Lord to Moses, and the provisions that the Lord commanded Moses to put before his people were mentioned in three chapters in the Book of Exodus. The purpose of punishments in the Noble Qur'an and the Old Testament book was to establish justice among people. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |

ان العقوبة في حياة الانسان لم تكن حالة طارئة او امراً مستحدثاً ؛ وانما رافقت الانسان منذ ولادته . فمع وجوده على الارض تكونت لديه فكرة واضحة عن امرين اساسيين في الحياة وهما : اولا العمل الحسن يكافأ (بالثواب).ثانيا : العمل السيء يجازى (بالعقاب)وان مبدأ العقوبة مرتبط بحياة الانسان وبقائه ، حيث اشار القران الكريم في قوله تعالى ( ولكم في القصاص حياة يا اولي الالباب).ومثلما اشار القران الكريم الى العقوبة ، كذلك كتاب العهد القديم اشار ايضا الى العقوبة ، اكثرها في ثلاثة اسفار هي الخروج ، التثنية ، واللاويين ، ارتبط اكثرها بوصايا الرب لموسى ، كما ذكرت الاحكام التي امر الرب موسى ان يضعها امام شعبه في ثلاثة اصحاحات في سفر الخروج. وقد كان الغرض من العقوبات في القران الكريم وكتاب العهد القديم هو اقامة العدل بين الناس.
