مستخلص: M2 macrophages are copious in generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP). [Colour figure can be viewed at wileyonlinelibrary.com] gl Paraffin-embedded sections were treated with antibodies to the following macrophage subclasses: CD68 (pan macrophage marker), CD204 (recognizes M2 macrophages and endothelial cells3), CD163 (M2 marker4) and HAM56 (marker of macrophages fixed in tissues and in the process of maturation5). Interestingly, M2 macrophages predominate in GPP, a severe multisystem and potential life-threatening disease, which is characterized by an enhanced inflammation with recruitment of immature neutrophils.2 We investigated the M2 macrophage profile in GPP to better understand the role of these macrophages in the pathogenesis of the condition.
