The article presents a study on the effect of adding egg yolk to the diluent Androstar Plus for cooling llama semen. It is mentioned that semen cooling is a more viable alternative than deep freezing in South American camelids. The objective of the study was to evaluate the effect of adding egg yolk to the diluent Androstar Plus in cooled llama semen. The results showed that the addition of egg yolk improved semen mobility, but also increased the percentage of dead sperm with damaged acrosomes. Additionally, a decrease in membrane functionality and an increase in tail abnormalities were observed in the cooled samples. [Extracted from the article] |

El artículo presenta un estudio sobre el efecto del agregado de yema de huevo al diluyente Androstar Plus para refrigerar semen de llama. Se menciona que la refrigeración de semen es una alternativa más viable que el congelamiento profundo en camélidos sudamericanos. El objetivo del estudio fue evaluar el efecto de agregar yema de huevo al diluyente Androstar Plus en el semen de llama refrigerado. Los resultados mostraron que el agregado de yema de huevo mejoró la movilidad del semen, pero también aumentó el porcentaje de espermatozoides muertos con acrosomas dañados. Además, se observó una disminución en la funcionalidad de la membrana y un aumento en las anormalidades de cola en las muestras refrigeradas. [Extracted from the article] |
