مستخلص: To improve the vibration reduction effect of the vibrating system, minimal amount of damping materials is attached to the structural surface, as the only purpose or tool of the vibration reduction using the topology optimisation method. The vibration acceleration level difference and power flow level difference parameter are combined as an objective function; the damping material distribution topology optimisation function is established based on the solid isotropic material with the penalisation method. The mounting structure under harmonic excitation, such as the laying scheme optimisation for damping materials, is implemented. Results show that the vibration reduction effect of the mounting structure is significantly increased by optimal distribution. Finally, the numerical results for damping material distribution optimisation are verified by the model experiment. This verification validates the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method. The study results provide more understanding of the design and engineering application of damping materials.
