| Abstract (English): |
The COVID-19 pandemic had devastating consequences on the bodily and psychological health of both the individuals and the society. This paper tries to find answers, how an RNA virus with such a diminutive genome can trigger severe disease in people and wreak havoc on the health system of developed countries. The respiratory distress syndrome and its long term complications („long covid”) affects women and men in different ways. It is especially important, what kind of lingering problems can we anticipate on the reproductive health of women. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |

A 2019-ben indult koronavírus-világjárvány drasztikus hatással volt mind az egyének mind a társadalom testi- és pszichés egészségére. Ez az írás arra a kérdésre próbál választ adni, hogy milyen celluláris és molekuláris mechanizmusok tették lehetővé, hogy ez a parányi genommal rendelkező RNS-vírus ilyen súlyos betegséget tudjon okozni. Másrészt, vannak-e a fertőzésnek és a kialakuló betegségnek olyan vonatkozásai, amelyek másképpen érintik a nőket és a férfiakat, rövid és hosszabb távon befolyásolhatják-e a nők reprodukciós egészségét.
