Abstract (English): The source, composition, treatment technology and reuse of industrial spent caustic were introduced systematically. The characteristics of current treatment technologies such as neutralization, precipitation, extraction, membrane separation, advanced oxidation and biological were analyzed. Approach to reuse of spent caustic, including caustic recycling, regeneration of acid and alkali and sodium sulfate recovery, were summarized. Finally, some suggestions on the treatment and reuse of spent caustic were put forward. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
