This study examines the concept of brotherhood within the ancient Iraqi family and the strong bond between siblings. It explores the dynamics of sibling relationships, their hierarchical order, and their position within the family structure. Additionally, the study delves into the relationships between siblings who are not biologically related, such as half-siblings from a second wife, siblings through adoption, and siblings from the same community. The study also explores the conflicts and problems that could arise among siblings and how they were managed and resolved, including the involvement of courts in settling disputes. لقد تناولت هذه الدراسة رابطة األخوة في األسرة العراقية القديمة والعالقة المتينة بين األخ وأخيه وترتيب األخوة ومكانتهم في األسرة وكذلك العالقة مع األخوة غير األشقاء من زوجة األب الثانية واألخوة من األمة الخالفات وال واألخوة بالتبني وتناولت الدراسة ايضا مشاكل التي كانت تحصل بين األخوة وكيف كان يتم ً ادارتها وحلها ،إذ أ َّن أحياناًكان يتم حل النزاعات عن طريق المحاكم.
