مستخلص: In this study some results of a wide numerical campaign were discussed, concerning shear tests on masonry triplets strengthened by means of Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (FRP) strips. Two different configurations were considered for the samples, at varying the orientation of the brick units (as "soldier" or "sailor"), with the reinforcement strips glued in a symmetric fashion over one face. Heterogeneous modelling of brick units and thick mortar joints was developed within a finite element approach by means of a damage plasticity constitutive relationship, assuming perfect adhesion between the external reinforcement and the substrate. Simulations provided insights about the distribution of damage and of plastic strain within the samples during the shear experiments, and turned out to be of significant interest for the preparation of truly experimental activity.
