مستخلص: This article, published in the journal Neuropediatrics, discusses a study that aimed to identify cognitive phenotypes in pediatric-onset multiple sclerosis (POMS) and examine their association with IQ, fatigue, depression, and quality of life. The study analyzed 106 patients with POMS and identified three cognitive phenotypes: preserved cognition, visuospatial impairment, and multidomain involvement with severe decline in information-processing speed. The study found significant differences in IQ, quality of life, depression, and fatigue between the different phenotypes. The authors conclude that cognitive impairment is a relevant issue in children with POMS and can have an impact on quality of life and academic achievement. [Extracted from the article]
