A study conducted by the University of Sydney explores the concept of integrative medicine (IM) and establishes decision criteria for its operational definition in general practice health services research in Australia. The researchers used an iterative approach, informed by expert knowledge and literature reviews, to categorize terms in the Australian clinical interface terminology according to whether they reflected IM, conventional/mainstream medicine (MM), or both.
