Based on a process of dialogue with a group of homeless people who have formed a social organization, this study looks into the concept of «home» from the point of view of those who do not have one. To this end, three moments are analyzed. First, the irruption of homeless people into a university campus, where a collective called «Nitep» («Ni todo está perdido», And all Is Not Lost) was formed. Second, we look at how this organization, during the pandemic, began to inhabit a space that would later become a daytime facility for homeless people («La Casa») thanks to an agreement between the university and the city government. Finally, categories related to being homeless in the city of Montevideo are described, along with Nitep's growing demand for housing, which only obtained promises from the authorities. A partir de un proceso de interlocución con personas en situación de calle que se han conformado como organización social en Montevideo, el texto plantea pensar la casa desde la situación límite del que no la tiene. Para ello se distinguen tres momentos. Primero, la irrupción de personas en situación de calle en una sede universitaria, donde se conforma un colectivo, Nitep, Ni todo está perdido. Segundo, cómo esa organización durante la pandemia comienza a habitar un espacio que más tarde se convertiría en un dispositivo diurno para personas en situación de calle («La Casa») en base a un acuerdo entre la Universidad y el gobierno local. Finalmente, se detallan categorías relativas a estar en calle en la ciudad y la demanda por la vivienda de Nitep, que se profundiza, pero sin obtener más que promesas y respuestas parciales a un problema, el derecho a un nido, que es total, tanto para el colectivo como para cada uno de sus integrantes.
