مستخلص: In this paper, discrete versions of the modified projectiontype methods are studied for solving the Hammerstein integral equations with a smooth kernel. The approximating operator is either the orthogonal projection or an interpolatory projection at Gauss points onto a space of piecewise polynomials of degree = r - 1. The orders of convergence that one obtains for the proposed methods shows that the used numerical quadrature for approximating the integrals preserves the orders of convergence of continuous methods. Numerical results are presented to validate the theoretical results. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
