مستخلص: A recent study conducted by researchers at Wonkwang University School of Medicine in South Korea investigated the effects of remimazolam, a benzodiazepine, on opioid-induced hyperalgesia (OIH) in patients undergoing laparoscopic urologic surgery. The study found that patients who received remimazolam had a higher mechanical hyperalgesia threshold, a smaller hyperalgesia postoperative area, a longer time to first rescue analgesia, lower cumulative PCA volume containing morphine, and lower pain intensity compared to patients who did not receive remimazolam. However, there was no significant difference in OIH between the remimazolam group and the group that received a different anesthesia regimen. The researchers concluded that further research is needed to determine the clinical significance of these findings. [Extracted from the article]
