مستخلص: Direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) is one of the established 3D metal printing techniques in which metal powder particles are melted by using the laser source and deposited layer by layer. This study outlines a framework for designing and fabricating meta-structure-based tensile specimens of Ti6-Al-4V and stainless steel (SS) 17-4 precipitate hardened (PH). Among many meta-structures available, the octet and dodecahedron truss structures were selected for the present study. The meta-structure used in this study was sandwiched between layers of Ti6-Al-4V and SS 17-4 PH alloy. Fabrication of tensile specimens (as per ASTM E8M) was carried out on DMLS set up with selected process parameters. After fabrication, mechanical properties, surface characteristics, grain size, and porosity were investigated for the fabricated specimens. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
