Abstract (English): Kalanchoe pinnata Linn. or in Indonesia known as cocor bebek, grow well in temperate and tropical regions. Cocor bebek is used to treat several diseases including skin diseases, wound healing, kidney stones, gallstones, diabetes. The pharmacological activities of cocor bebek leaves have been reported as antiinflammatory, antioxidant and antimicrobial. The objective of this study is to determine the metabolite content of cocor bebek leaves, total flavonoid levels and antioxidant activity. Observations of secondary metabolites of cocor bebek leaves were carried out through qualitative secondary metabolite screening, while total flavonoid levels were measured using quantitative UV-VIS spectrophotometry with quercetin as a comparison, and antioxidant activity through DPPH molecular inhibition testing. The results of this study indicate that cocor bebek leaves contain alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, triterpenoids, tannins and phenols. Extraction using 200 g of cocor bebek leaves resulted in yield of 14.63%. The total favonoid content obtained was 8.77% of quercetin, while the antioxidant inhibition of DPPH molecules obtained IC50 of 97.42 ppm. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Abstract (Indonesian): Kalanchoe pinnata atau di Indonesia di kenal dengan sebutan tanaman cocor bebek tumbuh dengan baik di wilayah beriklim sedang dan tropis. Cocor bebek digunakan untuk mengobati beberapa penyakit diantaranyapenyakit kulit, penyembuhan luka, batu ginjal, batu empedu, diabetes. Aktivias farmakologis daun cocor bebek yang pernah dilaporkan sebagai antiinflamasi, antioksidan dan antimikroba Tujuan dari penelitian ini yakni untuk mengetahui kandungan metabolit daun cocor bebek, kadar total flavonoid serta aktivitas antioksidan. Pengamatan metabolit sekunder daun cocor bebek dilakukan melalui skirining metabolit sekunder kualitatatif, sementara kadar total flavonoid dilakukan secara kuantitatif menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-VIS dengan kuersetin sebagai pembanding, aktivitas atioksidan melalui pengujian inhibisi molekul DPPH. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa daun cocor bebek mengandung alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, triterpenoid, tanin dan fenol. Ekstraksi menggunakan 200 g daun cocor bebek menghasilkan rendemen sebesar 14,63%.Kadar total favonoid yang diperoleh yakni sebesar 8,77% kuersetin, sementara antioksidan peredaman molekul DPPH diperoleh IC50 sebesar 97,42 ppm [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
