مستخلص: This article discusses the circulation of the DENV-1 genotype V during a nonepidemic period in the Ribeirão Preto region of São Paulo State, Brazil. The study highlights the importance of genomic surveillance for dengue virus (DENV) and the challenges associated with monitoring and predicting the emergence of different DENV genotypes. The researchers collected plasma samples from 20 patients suspected of DENV infection and found that two samples were positive for DENV-1. Phylogenetic analysis revealed the presence of two DENV-1 clades circulating in the region. The study emphasizes the need for ongoing surveillance to detect emerging DENV genotypes and implement proactive measures to control and prevent DENV transmission. [Extracted from the article]
