مستخلص: This article, published in the journal Endoscopy, discusses the safety and efficacy of endoscopic dilation as a treatment for benign esophageal strictures in adults. The study, conducted at Fattouma Bourguiba Hospital in Tunisia, reviewed the records of 30 patients with esophageal strictures. The results showed that endoscopic dilatation was effective and safe, with only a small number of patients experiencing an inadequate response. No perforations or deaths were reported, and surgical intervention was only required in one patient. Overall, the study suggests that endoscopic dilatation is a viable option for managing benign esophageal strictures in adults. [Extracted from the article]
