This article discusses the results of mitral valve surgery following transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER). The study analyzed the outcomes of 35 patients who underwent secondary mitral valve surgery after TEER. The majority of patients underwent delayed surgery, while some required acute surgical intervention or emergent conversion to open heart surgery. The study found that prosthetic mitral valve replacement was the predominant surgical strategy, and the overall 30-day mortality rate was 8.5%.
