مستخلص: This article discusses a prospective study analyzing cardiac function in pediatric patients with CLN2 disease who are receiving intraventricular enzyme replacement therapy (ICV-ERT). The study found that ICV-ERT does not lead to any relevant cardiac impairment in these patients, and echocardiography showed normal left and right systolic function in all patients. Some patients had borderline normal diastolic function, but there were no substantial deviations in parameters during follow-up assessments. The authors conclude that a continuous cardiac follow-up is necessary for these patients as they transition into adulthood. [Extracted from the article]
