In light of commentary on two rulings by the Apostolic Signatura on the expulsion of a nun from religious life, the essential aspects of the right to defense (possible adversarial and forensic technical assistance) in the procedure for such expulsion are discussed; and the reasons for the end of litigation before the Apostolic Signatura, especially through conciliation between the parties.
