مستخلص: The Journal for the Study of the Pseudepigrapha (JSP) has new co-editors, Kelley Coblentz Bautch and Matthew Goff, who outline their vision for the journal in this introduction. They encourage submissions that reflect contemporary and forward-looking perspectives on the study of the pseudepigrapha, while also acknowledging the ongoing critical re-evaluation of the category of "pseudepigrapha" itself. The journal was founded in 1987 and emerged in response to the publication of the Old Testament Pseudepigrapha (OTP) anthology, which played a significant role in expanding the study of "non-canonical" texts in biblical studies. The editors recognize the constructed nature of the category of pseudepigrapha and the need for a better nomenclature, but they continue to welcome submissions on traditional pseudepigraphal texts as well as other topics and traditions related to ancient Judaism and early Christianity.
