مستخلص: Concrete, being one of the most widely used construction materials, has a significant impact on the environment due to its high carbon footprint and resource consumption. In recent years, there has been a growing emphasis on developing eco-friendly concrete materials that address these environmental concerns. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the advancements in eco-friendly concrete materials, including supplementary cementitious materials, recycled aggregates, and alternative binders. It explores their potential to reduce carbon emissions, conserve natural resources, and improve the sustainability of concrete construction. Furthermore, this review highlights the environmental impact of these eco-friendly materials, including their energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and long-term durability. Finally, challenges and future directions for the widespread implementation of eco-friendly concrete materials are discussed, aiming to provide insights and guidance for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers involved in sustainable construction practices.
