Joy Bramble, founder of The Baltimore Times, was honored as Publisher of the Year at the National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA) annual convention. Bramble's commitment to community involvement and empowering Black Baltimore, as well as engaging younger readers and writers, were key factors in receiving the award. The convention also recognized other newspapers, including The St. Louis American, the Michigan Chronicle, and the New Pittsburgh Courier, for their journalistic excellence and community service.
