مستخلص: A novel drone detection system based on ultrasonic frequencies from 5 kHz up to 250 kHz is evaluated against a mass market drone. The system detected the pulses of the ultrasonic altimeter at 40 kHz but high frequencies present from the electronic speed controller and any other ultrasonic sources were unable to be detected. The system demonstrated detection up to 30 m in altitude, but the rapid attenuation of ultrasound waves prevented detection at extended ranges. Data from an audible frequency test is presented as a comparison to the ultrasound work, and a comparison of the two detection methods is presented. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
