مستخلص: The horizon of expectation in the thought of Hans Robert Jaus is a revolution against the conventional methods that have paid the most attention to the author or the meaning of the text and have not paid attention to the role of the reader. The horizon of expectation in his thinking is the distance between the text and the reader, which shows that instead of paying attention to the text or the author or external literary factors, in a literary work, attention should be paid to the category of the reader's perception as a true interpreter. And breaking the horizon of expectation is a category contrary to his expectation, which causes him to reflect and analyze more in the text. One of the notable examples of literary text are the stories of the Holy Quran with its variety of narrative types. The current research has been done with the importance of the reader's delay as much as possible and to discover the miraculous aspects of the verses related to the stories of the Holy Quran. The method used in the research is descriptive-analytical and it was determined at the end: The concept of breaking the horizon of expectation in Quranic stories plays a prominent role in connecting the reader with the literary work, and the more these stories distance from his expectation, the more valuable and beautiful it becomes, and a door of newer meanings is opened to him. The types of story structure in the Qur'an, such as: retrospective narration, introduction and open narration, are not accidental, but all are aimed at encouraging the reader to discover the semantic link between the verses. These stories rely on delightful surprises and obvious failures that follow the expectations of the characters and their actions. The stories of Moses, Abraham and Yusuf (peace be upon them) in the Holy Qur'an are outstanding examples of this type, based on the theoretical foundations of Yaus, one can achieve thoughtful results in their themes.
