Plastic pollution is a significant global issue that poses threats to wildlife. Researchers have discovered a new disease called plasticosis in flesh-footed shearwaters, which is caused by consuming plastic products. Fish in the North Pacific ingest thousands of tons of plastic each year, resulting in injuries.
