مستخلص: The 2016 Meinong Earthquake hit southern Taiwan, causing different types of damage to shallow foundation structures due to soil liquefaction. In response, the government agency initiated an investigation project to assess liquefaction potential and create liquefaction potential maps for major cities in Taiwan. The project used a pseudo-probabilistic approach to evaluate the liquefaction potential which cannot fully reflect the uncertainty and randomness of the occurrence of earthquake. To address this limitation, a simple probabilistic liquefaction hazard analysis (PLHA) program, HAZ45PL Module, customized for Taiwan was introduced to perform a probabilistic evaluation on liquefaction potential. However, the calculation methodology of the first version of HAZ45PL Module is not efficient resulting in a significant amount of data that needs to be stored and processed. Furthermore, the liquefaction potential is an indirect index related to the liquefaction-induced damage. In this study, a new and improved calculation methodology is introduced to enhance the efficiency of the HAZ45PL Module. Additionally, an alternative approach using the thickness of liquefied sand layer and non-liquefied surface layer to evaluate the occurrence of the liquefaction-induced damage is incorporated into HAZ45PL Module. Applications of these new features of HAZ45PL Module on obtaining the liquefaction-induced damage hazard curve and probability map are demonstrated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
