The article discusses the study "Molecular Characterization of Melanocyte Stem Cells in Their Niche," by Siu-Shan Mak, Rasmus Freter et al. Stem cell (SC) niche affects SC regulation. Melanocyte stem cells allow the identification of individual SCs in the niche. The niche is an environment that insulates SCs from different activating stimuli and maintains them in quiescent state. |
