The article presents suggestions on how to account for and stop power losses to achieve greater efficiency and higher power density. There are number of ways in which power losses occur including conduction losses, switching losses and driving losses. An equation is presented for accounting the driving losses. It is suggested that snubbers can be used to manage the voltage spikes within the maximum drain-source voltage ratings. |
