مستخلص: The article presents a study on the effects of salt to the microbial population, and establishment of biological treatment of real saline sewage. It notes that the modified University of Cape Town (MUCT) process was used to evaluate the shift in microbial population and treatment performance. Methods used include examination of salt concentrations that show that they have effect on phosphorous removal. The study gave an insight to the nature and magnitude effects on the microbial community.
