In this article the author discusses study abroad opportunities for college students and examines how dislocation can play a role in one's formation of a definition for home. She reflects on her experiences living abroad in Italy to argue that effective foreign study programs allow students to form a close connection to their location and comments that U.S. students being displaced from Egypt in February 2011 due to safety concerns have not spent enough time there to form a strong relationship with the country. |
