مستخلص: THURSDAY What the Dickens... a subterranean bar inspired by London's greatest storyteller? The Worship Street Whistling Shop (left) creaks open its doors today, offering 19th-century cocktails, including a bracing gin fizz, alongside food that would bring colour to Tiny Tim's cheeks - suckling pig and rabbit hot pot. No Bleak House this - the bar even boasts a seating area complete with a bespoke Victorian lamppost. We have Great Expectations. 63 Worship Street, EC2 (whistlingshop.com) FRIDAY Here comes the bride! Join in the royal wedding celebrations at the London in Love Weekend taking place at the Southbank Centre. String quartets and harpists will be filling the bar with romantic music from 1pm until 4pm, there's bingo with the 'people's pensioner' Ida Barr and in the evening cabaret and comedy at the Alternative Royal Wedding in the E4 Udderbelly where attendees in full wedding regalia get free drinks. Tickets for the Udderbelly from £19.50 (underbelly.co.uk) SATURDAY The highly cultured among you will enjoy an esoteric (and free) evening of progressive music and early 20th-century Romanian film. Groovy soundscapers Minima will perform a live accompaniment to an outdoor screening of the 1925 love story Manasse (right) at the Silent Cinema at Spitalfields Market in association with the East End Film Festival. Starts at 8pm (020 7364 7917; eastendfilmfestival.com) SUNDAY Who said Sunday was a day of rest? Forget rest, we want rave, and we want to do it at a secret location that isn't revealed until the very last minute! So thank goodness for secretsundaze, now in its tenth year. Today's party will feature Detroit DJ Kyle Hall alongside secretsundaze residents James Priestley and Giles Smith. Most important are the secret guests - TBA, naturally. Tickets from £14.50 (thesecretagency.net/roster/ secretsundaze) MONDAY Mayday, mayday! I am at home with the children and I have no idea what to do. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
