مستخلص: The study on the Employee Engagement was conducted at Rane Engine Valve Limited Plant I, Chennai and it was found that 76% of employees were engaged more than 70%, there was a positive relationship between engagement variables and discretionary effort and there was a weak negative relationship between engagement variables and intension to stay, there was an association between employee engagement and discretionary effort and it was also found that there was an association between employee engagement and intension to stay, there was no significant difference between engagement variables and demographic factors like age, years of experience and designation. It was suggested that the organization should thus recognize employees as their most valuable asset, more than any other variable, as powerful contributors to a company's competitive position. Therefore employee engagement should be a continuous process of learning, improvement, measurement and action. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
