مستخلص: Directivity patterns of American and British jet engines have been measured, by our group and others, for several operating conditions and at a number of distances. Variations of the frequency spectrum with engine power may be used, for instance, to indicate the noise output and directivity of the compressor. For different measurement distances, apparent deviations from the inverse square law are considerable; these may be partially resolved by considering the different elements in the engine and jet stream which produce the noise.
