مستخلص: The behavior of Altec condenser microphones, and their associated preamplifiers, has been examined up to 500 degrees F. In general, considerable cycling from room temperature up to working temperature, or aging, or both, are needed before a microphone has a stable response at such temperatures. Marked irregularities in response often appear at higher frequencies, which might be attributed to resonances in the microphone. Calibration curves are presented, and a discussion of suitable tubes.
