The article reports that the emu farming business is no more a profitable business in India. In 2008, one kilogram of feed cost 9 rupees, but in 2011 the feed costs had tripled. The price of emu meat also fell about 25 percent to between 250 rupees and 350 rupees per kilo. There was a sudden rise in the number of people entering the business and there was an oversupply in the market. |
