| Abstract (English): |
This study aims at identifying the educational impact for the utilization of Internet in the educational process by students from the Arab Open University/Jordan Branch. The population of this study comprises the whole student body of 2300 male and female students attending the University on the fall semester of the academic year 2012/2013. Students are distributed across the four programmes offered by the University (Information Technology and Computing, English Language and Literature, Business Administration, and Education). The tool in relation to this study -- the questionnaire -- was administered to each and every student by means of uploading it, electronically, on the Learning Management Systems (LMS) which all students have access to. Some 787 questionnaires were duly completed by students from the four programmes. The study revealed that the utilization of the Internet in the educational process has very high and positive overall and sub-impacts on the various aspects and dimensions of the teaching/learning process. The study also showed that there are no significant statistical differences in terms of the utilization of the Internet in the educational process when it comes to gender (male vs. female students). On the other hand, the study unveiled significant statistical differences in terms of the utilization of the Internet in the educational process when it comes to students' programmes of study and fields of specialization. هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تعرف الآثار التعليمية لاستخدامات الانترنت من قبل طلبة الجامعة العربية المفتوحة - فرع الأردن. تكون مجتمع الدراسة من جميع طلبة الجامعة العربية المفتوحة – فرع الأردن- والبالغ عددهم (2300) طالب وطالبة موزعين الى أربعة تخصصات (تقنية المعلومات، اللغة الأنجليزية، إدارة الأعمال، التربية) وذلك للفصل الدراسي الأول للعام الدراسي 2013 /2012 ، تم توزيع أداة الدراسة (الاستبانة) على جميع أفراد المجتمع من خلال عرضها على موقع إدارة التعلم LMS الخاص بالجامعة وبشكل الكتروني، تم الحصول على (787) استبانة تم الاجابة عليها من طلبة الجامعة موزعين على التخصصات الأربعة. وقد أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن هناك آثاراً تعليمية لاستخدامات الانترنت بدرجة مرتفعة على الدرجة الكلية والدرجات الفرعية لكل بعد من الأبعاد التعليمية. كما أشارت نتائج الدراسة الى أنه لا توجد فروق دالة إحصائياً للآثار التعليمية لاستخدامات الانترنت تعزى لمتغير الجنس، في حين أن هناك فروقاً دالة احصائياً في الآثار التعليمية لاستخدامات الانترنت على الدرجة الكلية وبعض الابعاد الفرعية تعزى لمتغير تخصص الطلبة.
