مستخلص: This paper aims to bring attention to the implications of the learning organization's dimensions upon the level of enterprises competitiveness in the knowledge economy. The managers' orientation towards building knowledge structures and achieving the "learning organization" are not easily obtainable targets. Managers need to act as leaders, entrepreneurs and to be proactive. The positive personal example should prevail; internal structures must promote sustainable development and exchange of information and knowledge among employees, in order to gain competitive advantages in a highly competitive market. It is already recognized the importance of the concept of "learning organization" as the impetus for progress, development and achievement of competitive advantage. In the first part of the paper we want to convince about the relevance of the concepts by emphasizing the related opportunities and threats within the real economy. In the second part of this paper we present a mapping of the learning organization's dimensions within the Romanian business environment. Therefore we present opportunities and risks involved in framing the operational system of business organizations in specific patterns and trends of past established strategies or the contrary, to adopt decentralized organizational style and flexibility at all levels. We captured the connection between realities, of the past economic environment and perspectives, future economic environment that is mediated by scientific theories of the present. In this sense, in our work, we tried to weave these plans, past and future, of firms in business through discussions on the effects of stock companies and propose options for their future. In order to support this approach we identified aspects of innovation within certain scientific theories of the present, such as learning organization and dynamic knowledge in the knowledge-based economy. We believe that a substantial innovative contribution is the highlighting of the connections between the dimensions and properties of the learning organization and knowledge dynamics in organizational context.
